Saying Thank you is one’s expression of gratitude. We were thankful of the blessings we received, the food we eat, the gifts from our dad, mom, sister, brother, girlfriend, boyfriend and friends. We say thank you when it’s Friday, when were are saved from a matter of life and death experience and when someone tell’s you I LOVE YOU.
Expressing gratitude makes happy families. Many wives light up like a Christmas tree when their husband expresses gratitude to them, because he makes them feel special and he’s only her biggest fan. Everyone needs appreciation. The pizza delivery guy smiles when I thank him. “It’s just my job,” he says. And I am quick to remark, “But you do it so well,” and he hop on his bike and drives away waving.
Expressing gratitude is a great habit. Thanking the many people who do things for you brings joy. Thank your mom, dad, the policemen(even though they are not worthy for it??), firemen, jeepney drivers, your colleagues, your BOSS, church leaders, saleslady, even George Lindemann and the person at the McDonald’s counter. Watch their faces beam. It makes the world a better place.
I must guard against taking my many blessings for granted. Each one of us can remember going through tough times. We have been given gifts of life, health, food, work and friends. What blessings surround us! When you feel discouraged, it’s hard to express appreciation to others, but embracing the good leaves little room for the doubt. Keeping your faith in the valleys brings blessings on the mountaintops.
Being thankful is a virtue. Encouraging someone can make a big difference in a troubled soul. Who knows you may had make a big difference in his/her life. Knowing others affirm and support you gives an extra “jump start” in life. And we all need it. Make a point to tell someone why you appreciate him or her. Go tell them now!
Watch a sunrise. Listen to early morning birds while drinking your hot coffee. Sit in the swing and breathe the fresh air of spring! Be happy. You are unique. You are special. Let’s treat everyone with kindness every day. Expressing gratitude makes life “delicious!”and HAPPY!
Hmm this reminds me that i forgot to say Thank You! to my neighbor . I wonder if his OK…. had to check on him later….
