Most Managers now wait until their people do something exactly right before they praise them.  As a result, many people never get to become high performers because their managers concentrate on catching them doing things wrong– that is, anything that falls short of the final desired performance. After getting punished for a while and not knowing what acceptable behavior is, these people would go into the corner of the room and  not move.  To them it is a hostile environent and not worth taking any risks in.

That is what most managers do with new, inexperienced people.  They welcome them aboard, take them around to meet everybody, and then they leave them alone.  Not only do they not catch them doing anything approximately right, but periodically they zap them just to keep moving.  This is the most popular leadership style of all.  They call it the "leave alone-zap" style.  You leave the person alone, expecting good performance from them, and when you don’t get it, you zap them.

So what happen to these people?  Definitely these people will do as little as possible.  They really do not produce– either quantity or quality.  Thus it affect the organization and the business today.  Much of the reason of poor business performance is simply because the people are managed so poorly.

last Sunday was the day i came home to the house of the Lord God.  since the start of 2006, when i came back here in Makati… i had never set a foot on any of his houses…. and the prodigal son came home last Sunday at 6:30 PM… i slowly enter his house without knocking and allow myself to feel at home… and i said "Tadaima" (Im home) and hoping he would answer "Welcome home, come and join us in the banquet made just for you. This is a celebration for my long lost son who was found again."

I guess there would no reason to visit his house often coz it was only across the place where i stay.  and i would always hear his voice calling to his children everytime the celebration starts.

here i am in this cold quite office, seating in front of my pc with my hands on the keyboard doing nothing…. it has been 5 days since the rain had started… there was a typhoon since tuesday…

the only noise i can hear were the sweet loving music i was listening to… i was staring at the white cover of my CPU but was actually not looking at it… my eyes were open but it was sleeping.. i was dreaming… i am reminiscing… remembering things.  those wonderful smile of my love ones… those innocent faces of A Batch 5-Cebu… the time when my face was covered with pimples.. and suddenly  i  became sad and happy… i frown and smile just thinking of it…

i had to attend to 2 special events this weekend.. but i felt lazy and bad about it… i just want to be alone and do my stuff… i was not in the mood to socialize with others… though i was thinking that i need to… hey! day would passed by and all of these will fade away… so just let it be… just like the rain pouring and the skies were so dark.. tomorrow it will be gone and the light will shine upon us…

so here i am writing, surfing.. probably later i will work… or shall i play DotA? i don’t know.. i will know then later…

really important meetings are planned by the souls long before the bodies sees each other.  generally speaking, these meetings occur when we reach a limit, when we need to die and e reborn emotionally.  these meetings are waiting for us, but more often than not, we avoid them happening.  if we are desperate, though,  if we have nothing to lose, or if we are full of enthusiasm for life, then the unknown revelas itself, and our universe changes direction.

below were some nice and mind buggling phrase from Paulo  Coelho’s Eleven Minutes. I’d like to write and discuss my opinions on them in details, but not now.  I need  to ponder on it first.

"the passion for destruction is part of how a child discovers the world"

"I carry with me part of your past, and you carry with you a little of my present.  Isn’t that lovely?"

"I’ve learned that waiting is the most difficult bit, and I want to get used to the feeling, knowing that your with me, even when you’re not by my side."

here’s one of Terri’s very nice creation after graduating from ACTION.  have fun…

(DOA) ‘Death Or Action: Take 1′ -by: Terri de la Cruz

Action fans from all over the world are now waiting with unrivaled anticipation for the movie-adaptation of ‘Killed In Action’.

Famous action star Rhaniel ‘Borj’ Borja shall appear beside the action king, Philip Gripo for their upcoming movie, ‘Death or Action’ coming summer 2007.  According to the sources from the Marasigan Studios, action queen Joie Cariaga  (from the Academy Award winning film ‘Done With the Action’) shall have a major role, along side the action king. The movie is said to be directed by the renowned action and horror director, Nep Tee (Best Director, Academy Awards 2003).

Last month, the most famous producers in the action business, Chua and Kung Brothers (C), released a statement that they shall generously produce the movie together with the big-time executive producer, Anne Basilla (owner of Basilla Creative Pictures, Inc.).  Anne has expressed her support on this production in last week’s interview, saying that she has been an all-time fan of Action movies from the great Nep Tee.

The movie has already started with its production this October and fans of the action king (Gripo) and the new action star (Borja) were already speculating on the projected ending of the movie.  ‘Death Or Action’ was based on the book ‘Killed In Action’ (Makati Times Best Seller for 2006) written by the local novelist, L. Carbonell (who also wrote ‘Who’s That Beside Kuya Dick’).

Scriptwriter Anthony Machacon, promised that the script and storyline would very much be faithful to its beloved novel. Machacon especially noted that the key scenes were those that contructed the whole beauty of the story. Unfortunately, the novel was too long to be summarized,  so Machacon did give hints that ‘Death or Action’ would be the first part of the ‘Action’ Trilogy.

Another renowned producer from Makati Action Guild, Jeff Lui, expressed his expectation  in the Nep Tee film. "I’m seeing much potential in the production of this masterpiece." said Lui, "Since Joie Cariaga  did an astounding performance with teen actor Rhoy Ong in Done With the Action, I already see the  movie’s promising future in the Box Office."

The special effects and computer enchancements in the movie’s thrilling action scenes shall be done by  the company, Rex Entertainment, who also brought us the late action movie ‘Enter the Action’ and the documentary ‘Swimming Synchronization’. Jairus Tetangco, the co-founder of Rex Entertainment, estimated that the movie would have a budget of nearly $3,000,000 USD.

For the musical score of the film, director Nep Tee has mentioned that he had a talk with one of the scholars of the Conservatory of Music in Pennsylvania. The scholar had advised that none other than the music prodigy, Charles Grandeza, create the movie soundtrack. Grandeza, now at 22, has been a three-time Emmy Award winner for the past five years of his stay in the music business. Together with Pinoy Pop Idol, Aldwin Prudente, the two shall be writing the music and the soundtrack for the action movie, bringing back the color and emotion to the drama and the action of the story.

Former action king Harold Espallardo wished the production and Nep Tee all the luck and support for this year’s most-awaited action movie. Cheers!

Waking up on a Sunday seems hard for me.  My whole body aches, like i was all beaten-up, that all my muscles were in pain.  I can hardly stand up and move my arms. My leg and arms were hurting as well as my chest.  They actually call it DOMS.

According to  Wikipedia, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) is the pain or discomfort often felt 24 to 72 hours after exercising and subsides generally within 2 to 3 days. Once thought to be caused by lactic acid buildup, a more recent theory is that it is caused by tiny tears in the muscle fibers caused by eccentric contraction, or unaccustomed training levels. Since lactic acid disperses fairly rapidly, it could not explain pain experienced days after exercise.

It started last Saturday in the afternoon after i had my first session in the gym.  I woke up so early on a Saturday morning(in which i usually drowned myself in the bed for a deep sleep and wake-up at around 10 to 11 AM for lunch) and took a bath and prepare my bag.  It had been 2 years since i had been in a gym and I was a bit excited about it.  Then I had made a policy for my self, that from now on i would spend my money for the wellness of my being. Thus i decided to enroll my self in a fitness center.  Since it was my first day, my trainer which he calls himself Coach V had been so nice in welcoming me. (but later on transformed into a dubious monster who love seing his minions suffer from pain and hardships eheheheheh) He said that since it was my first day, we had to find out my limits.  We started on a bench press.  The pole alone was a solid metal which weighs 45 lbs.  At first it was easy… then he added 50 lbs on both side which sum up to 145 lbs! F… but thanks to G.. i was able to lift it… then he had this grin on his face and added 10 lbs on both side… then 2.5 lbs… in which i had already raised the white flag.  I took a rest .. drink some cold water.. and mocking him… (your mad.. evil… monster… ehehe just an imagination) then he put me a machine which i forgot its name(eheheheh).. and it went well.. the next test machine went well also… and then when i was doing the squat.. he let me carry a F—ing  175 lbs… i had only made 3 repititions of 5 counts each and i said "Time Out! I need to drink water".. i felt dizzy at that time so i sat for a while… and then i felt the dizziness again.. it seems my world was turning..and my eyes were rolling and slowly closing.. then all of a sudden.. the hot melting magma was bursting out from the depth of my stomach.. (F— i’ll gonna throw-up)… i hold my mouth firmly and ran into the mens room… my left hand holding my mouth from bursting into a messy oblivion while my right hand was trying to open the F—ing locked door.  Again the dizziness came and because of not being so familiar with the place.. i found the nearest open room.. and i hurriedly let my self in.. and i found myself bowing in front of the lavatory and letting the anger of the awaken beast inside me to release it’s terror into the innocent unpolluted and peaceful room… then i feel so relieved.. like i was sleeping on a cloud … while daydreaming, the door suddenly opens and two young beautiful ladies came out of nowhere and there they were infront of me, there were inside the room where i was in … i stared at them and with a  blink of the eye  i remember that the worst had come to me. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! it’s like  the world was crumbling down…. i hear laughter, peopling shouting at me, laughing at me… I wanted to shout, to rip the limbs of those who mocked me… and darkness was filled with light.   FUCK! I was in the Ladies Locker Room!  I was so ashamed and my face turned red and gasp that my mouth had only utter "I’m Sorry!"…. and i felt glad when they responded with "It;s OK"…  then a grin was drawn on their face and giggling as they went to the shower … and after saying that.. the lady attendant went in also.. and was shocked that she immediately asked me.."What are you doing here?" and again i said "I’m sorry…"(with a smile on my face) and she get out… the embarrasment had showed itself infrom of me and i felt so ashamed… that i get out immediately and went to the men’s locker room…  i didn’t know that Coach V was also looking for me in the Men’s locker room.. he even search every shower and toilet room for me…  then i get out.. behaving like none of those shameful events had happened… and we continue…. and "at last the last pit stop!" ( i said to myself)… the thread mill for cardio…TGIO(thank G– its Over)… a 1 hour session is quite not bad at all…
